JAMMU, Apr 21: Various organizations and individuals have strongly condemned the terrorist attack in which five Army soldiers were martyred in district Poonch on Thursday.
Condemning the attack, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today paid floral tributes to the Army martyrs at the party headquarters in Jammu. BJP National General Secretary & Incharge Jammu & Kashmir Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, former Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, former Dy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, former Minister Sat Sharma, General Secretary Adv Vibodh Gupta, General Secretary Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal and others expressed condolences to the families of brave hearts and wished speedy recovery to the injured Jawan.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Chugh said that the sacrifice for the nation would not go waste and those responsible for the attack on the soldiers will not be spared. Ravinder Raina termed the terrorist attack as coward act and said that these cowards will soon be neutralized.
BJP Jammu District unit also staged anti-Pak protest. Led by J&K BJP Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi and District President Parmod Kapahi, the party activists raised anti-Pak slogans amid holding of placards condemning the terror attack.
Similar protest was held by BJP Jammu District South unit, led Rekha Mahajan. DDC Prof Garu Ram Bhagat, former MLC Vikram Randhawa, Akash Chopra, Pushpinder Singh, Neeraj Puri, and others took part in the protest and torched an effigy of Pakistan.
Condemning the attack, senior BJP leader and former Minister Ajatshatru Singh has warned Pakistan to desist from exporting terror to this side of border. He said that India was capable of devastating Pakistan if it does not stop misadventures in Jammu and Kashmir.
Apni Party Provincial President and former Minister S Manjit Singh has expressed grief over the martyrdom of five soldiers in terror attack and observed that Pakistan does not want peace in J&K. He opined that Government of India should immediately summon the Pakistan High Commissioner and give a strong message to them.
Gaurav Gupta, General Secretary of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, has described the attack as “cowardly and inhuman”, urging the Government to identify the assailants for exemplary punishment. He said that terrorism has no place in a civilized world and those indulging in such barbaric acts were the enemies of humanity.
To pay tributes to the soldiers martyred in the terror attack, Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market Jammu took out a candle march from Federation office to Bikram Chowk. Led by Deepak Gupta, President of the Federation, the traders appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that security agencies should be given free hand to neutralize all terrorists involved in such attacks.
Paying tributes to the martyred soldiers, ABVP National Secretary, Mustafa Ali has demanded that India should once more strike surgically in Pakistan occupied Jammu Kashmir, which is a breeding ground of terrorists. He also drew attention towards OGWs and sought action in this regard.
Jammu Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) held a demonstration seeking strong military action against Pakistan to avenge the terror attack. The Sena president Manish Sahni said that the time has come for the Modi Government to teach Pakistan a lesson through a military action.
Condemning the terror attack, Polit Bureau of CPI (M) has demanded that a thorough inquiry must be conducted to identify the circumstances which permitted such a heinous attack, in order to be better prepared in combating terrorism.
The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Jammu, led by its president K K Khosa has condemned the dastardly killing of RR soldiers by terrorists and observed that the network of terrorists’ sympathizers and over ground workers aided and abetted by Pakistan is still very much intact. Khosa appealed the GoI and UT Government to beef up security to prevent such untoward incidents.
To express their anguish over the terror attack, All J&K 1947 PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum convened a meeting under the chairmanship of Advocate Amrik Singh and S Surjit Singh. The Forum urged PM Modi to take stern action like surgical strike against Pakistan.
Maj Gen (Retd), Goverdhan Singh Jamwal has expressed his anguish over the terror attack and sought a befitting response. “I think enough is enough and Pakistan has shown her hand now. We know what should be done and that must be done,” he said.
Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha, under its chairman Ramesh Chander Mahajan, has condemned the terror attack and appealed the Central Government to ensure that NoKs of the martyrs are provided adequate ex-gratia relief besides Government job.
The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena, under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta, too out a protest rally in Jammu city amid torching of Pakistani flag. They raised slogans against Pakistan and said that a bigger surgical strike was required to destroy terrorist camps in PoK.
Sunil Dimple, President of Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir, also led an anti-Pak protest and torched Pakistani flag to express anguish over the terror attack. Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple demanded resignation of LG Manoj Sinha as well as the Central Government for their failure to control militancy in J&K.
In Rajouri, activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal along with district unit BJP took out a protest march calling for stern action against terrorists involved in the attack on Army vehicle. They also paid tributes to the soldiers who had attained martyrdom in the attack. BJP Rajouri district general secretary Ranjit Tara said that the martyrdom of jawans will be avenged.
