JAMMU, Aug 25: Anil Sawhney is the new president of the Rotary Club Jammu for the year 2024-25.
In an impressive function, Anil Sawhney took oath as new president and Deepak Baboo as Secretary. Besides them, other office bearer of the Club also took oath.
The outgoing president Sat Pal while briefing about the achievement for the year 2023-24, said that more than 10,000 sanitary napkins were distributed in the rural as well as urban schools and colleges for girl students. He said the seminars on menstrual hygiene were also held during the period.
In his presidential address, Anil Sawhney pledged that the projects in hands will be further boosted in his tenure. He pledged and assured the immediate past president that he will complete the pending projects during his period of presidentship.
Sawhney further said that the two pending global grants amounting to Rs70 lakhs will also be completed during his period. “One out of two grants is almost completed and will be closed soon while the other grant of establishment of Rotary Eye Hospital at Raya will also be completed during my tenure,” he added.
Rotarians Prem Shankar, Sunil Sawhney, Gourav Vaid, Dr Navneet Gupta and Harbans Singh were also present on the occasion.
