Animal Husbandry Deptt organizes awareness camp

JAMMU, Aug 17: An awareness camp was organised at RCD Centre Subhash Nagar by Department of Animal Husbandry, here today.
The camp was attended by Livestock Development Officer, Dr P N Koul, Municipal Veterinary Officer Dr Jaswant Singh, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Dr Pawandeep Kour, Dr Vikas Mangotra, progressive farmers of the State and other staff members.
In her welcome note, Dr Pawandeep Kour desired to have frequent interaction with the progressive farmers in future as well.
During interaction with the farmers, LDO Dr P N Koul deliberated upon various activities undertaken by Animal Husbandry Department and elaborated various aspects of cattle management, breeding, disease control and overall profitable Dairy entrepreneurship. He desired that farmers should adopt the dairy farming practice and poultry rearing practice as a self employment generation venture.
MVO Jaswant Singh educated farmers about proper immunization and stressed that animals should not be let free on roads which creates nuisance for public. Dr Vikas Mangotra gave detail of importance of Birth control among dogs.
A stall was established by Virbac Pharma Company, represented by Sanjeev Dudeja, Raman Talwar Vinod Tikoo and Mohit Bhatti.
