Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Aug 24: Animal sacrifice has been banned in entire state of Himachal Pradesh particularly during Mani Mahesh Yatra. According to the directions of HP High Court, no person throughout the State shall sacrifice any animal in any place of worship including lands and buildings near such places of worship which are ordinarily connected with religious purposes or in any ceremony/Yagya, congregation or procession connected with any religious worship. A letter in this regard was today submitted to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pawan Kotwal, by Mani Mahesh Yatra Dal, for information, as it is a usual practice of sacrificing animals every year during the Mani Mahesh Yatra by the pilgrims from district Doda, Kathua and Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir, at the place of their night stay while on their way to Mani Mahesh.
