Anjuman demands release of Zakzakky

JAMMU, July 28: A protest demonstration was staged here today by Anjuman-e-Imamia in solidarity with ‘renowned Nigerian scholar’, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzakky.
The protesters alleged that some three years back Zakzakky was illegally detained by Nigerian army during Al-Qudds rally.
“During this rally Nigerian army opened fire on peaceful protesters and killed many of them while Zakzakky got injured and was arrested by Nigerian Government,” the protesters said.
While addressing media Anjuman leaders said that entire Muslim world irrespective of Shia-Sunni factor is protesting against the unlawful detention of Zakzakky.
“We will continue the protest and will raise our voice regarding the illegal detention of Zakzakky. Nigerian regime is not even willing to provide him medical help as his health is deteriorating day by day,” informed Prof. Sujat Khan, Secretary Anjuman.
He also said: “We are extremely concerned with the unlawful and unconstitutional act of Nigerian Government which totally lacks regards for its own citizens.”
