Rafiabad, Oct 11: Former Minister and PCC leader A G Vakil today stressed upon the State and Central Governments to speed up the rehabilitation work of flood affected people in the whole State and complete it in a time bound manner so that Assembly elections are held at earliest here without any inordinate delay.
He said that Election Commission of India must take cognizance of every aspect and play its role in strengthening the democratic institutions in the State and announce the schedule of Assembly elections. Mr. Vakil was addressing party workers convention at Achabal in Rafiabad.
Mr. Vakil said that after floods people are now becoming the victim of anxiety and confusion as adequate and liberal financial assistance for rehabilitation work is confined to papers only. While expressing his serious concern over the fact that present Central Government is not seriously tackling the situation in the J&K. He urged the State Government to issue a White Paper on the scale of devastation and damages viz.a viz. financial and other assistance received from all sources and utilized so far.
