Annual convention of VIPM concludes at SKUAST-Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 19: Two-day 4th Annual Convention of “Veterinary Internal and Prevention Medicine Society” (VIPM- 2023) and National Symposium on “Advancing Veterinary Medicine for Holistic Development of Animal Health and Productivity with a One Health Approach” concluded at SKUAST-Jammu.
During the valedictory session of the conference, Dr M C Sharma, former Director-cum-Vice-Chancellor, IVRI, Bareilly, UP was the chief guest. He said that One Health is a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach that recognizes the interconnection of human health, animal health, and the environment. He further said that focus should be given on alternative system of veterinary medicine.
Dr A U Bhikane, founder President of VIPM, presented the report and recommendations of the symposium. He said that outcomes of the symposium will foster a collaborative spirit among veterinarians, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
At the outset, Dr Neelesh Sharma, Organizing Secretary VIPM-2023, welcomed the dignitaries and delegates while Dr Rajesh Katoch, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Jammu presented the welcome address.
During the valedictory session, appreciation awards, young scientist awards, field veterinarian awards and best oral and poster presentation awards were given to the delegates.
Dr Neelesh Sharma, Organizing Secretary, was felicitated by the VIPM Society for successfully organizing the symposium. Statutory officers of the University, staff members, students, delegates and media personnel were present on the occasion. Proceeding of the valedictory programme was conducted by Dr Ankur Sharma while vote of thanks was presented by Dr Kafil Hussain, Co-organizing secretary, VIPM, 2023.
