Annual hawans of Bargshekha, Durga Nag performed

JAMMU, Oct 9: The annual Maha Yagya of Mata Bargshekha Bhagwati, the presiding deity of Mattan was performed at Martand Suriya Bhawan Paloura near here today.
A large number of people participated in the three day long religious function which was held under the supervision of Avtar Krishan Muss,  Ashok Kumar Sidha and Saligram Bawnu, chairman,  president and general secretary of Tirath Raj Trust of Mattan respectively.
The Maha Yagya started yesterday evening while the Bhoomi Pooja was performed on October 7. The Puranahuti was performed this afternoon. It was followed by serving of prashad to the devotees.
The devotees, drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in the function and paid their obeisance to Goddess, Bargshekha.
Besides the representatives of various KP organizations, president ASKPC Ravinder Raina and Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram also participated in the function.
The Bhajan Kirtan and religious discourses were also held on the occasion.
Another religious function in connection with Durga Ashtami was held at Durga Nag Mandir, Dalgate Srinagar.
A hawan as usual was performed in the temple complex which started yesterday evening and concluded with puranahuti this afternoon. It was followed by serving of prashad to devotees. The local Muslims also attended the function. All the devotees prayed for peace and tranquility in the Valley.
