Annual North Zone NeoCon-2023 Conference culminates at SKICC

Srinagar, June 10: The National Neonatology Forum (NFF) in coordination with the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag successfully organized the Annual North Zone NeoCon-2023 Conference. The conference, held at SKICC, concluded today.
With the Department of Pediatrics at GMC Anantnag, playing a leading role, the “Annual North Zone Conference, NeoCon-2023” started on June 9, in coordination with the “National Neonatology Forum of India and its JK Chapter.”
Before the conference, on June 8, several pre-conference workshops were conducted in various hospitals across Kashmir. The conference marked the first-ever “Zonal NeoCon Conference” held in J&K.
The conference addressed various crucial areas related to neonatal health and medical practices, including neonatal resuscitation, neonatal ventilation, quality improvement, neonatal nursing, and other common neonatal health issues and interventions.
Dr Showkat Hussain Tali, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Chief Organizing Secretary of the conference stated that the event aimed to provide participants with the latest advancements and updates in the field of neonatology.
During the prize distribution ceremony on the final day, Dr Chaitra Angadi was awarded the Gold medal in the “Free Paper Presentation” category, followed by Dr Prachi Patwal with the Silver medal and Dr Andleeb Majeed with the Bronze medal.
In the “Poster Papers” category, Dr Risha Dev received the Gold medal, while Dr Prachi Patwal secured the Silver medal. Dr Om Prakash Yadav and Dr Shaib Mohd Bhat both won the Bronze medal. In the “Award Papers” category, Dr Bhrajishna Pallapothu earned the Gold medal, and Dr Smitamayee Sahu received the Silver medal.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. (Prof) Syed Tariq Qureshi, the Patron and Principal of GMC Anantnag, thanked the organizers, particularly Dr Ravi Sachan, Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, and Dr Showkat Hussain Tali for successfully conducting the national-level conference.
Dr Owais H. Dar, the Media Secretary of NeoCon-2023, reported that approximately 400 delegates attended the three-day conference and workshops, with over 150 delegates representing various regions across the country.
