UDHAMPUR, Oct 5: In its continuous war against drug menace, Udhampur Police booked one more notorious drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act and sent him to jail.
The accused, namely Ashwani Sharma alias Ashu, son of Kewal Sharma of Jib, Majalta, Udhampur was involvement in selling and distributing contraband narcotics among the populace of Udhampur and its adjoining areas.
On the directions of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar-, dossier of Ashwani Sharma was prepared and sent for approval of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
After obtaining sanction from the competent authority, the said drug peddler was detained under PIT NDPS Act.
