KATRA, Nov 7: Yet another female bootlegger was held today in Katra when she was smuggling illicit liquor to the holy town.
The accused, identified as Naveeta Rani, wife of Pawan Kumar of Pouni Mandir Katra, was intercepted by a Police Party of PCP Seerli (Katra), under the supervision of SHO Katra, Insp Kuldeep Krishan, when she was on way towards Katra from Chamba side. On her frisking by lady Constable on duty, 30 Poly pouches of J&K Excise liquor were recovered from her possession. On this, a case FIR No. 179/2015 U/S 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC has been registered at P/S Katra.
It is pertinent to mention here that on October 10, 2015, husband of this woman bootlegger was also booked in FIR No.162/2015 U/S 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC after 130 poly pouches were recovered from his possession.
