JAMMU, Dec 12: Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a drug peddler along with high grade heroin.
According to SP ANTF Vinay Sharma, the sleuths of ANTF led by Inspector Sunil Jasrotia intercepted a person here.
During checking, police team recovered 260 grams high grade heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him, SP said, adding that the arrested person has been identified as Virender Singh alias Kalu, son of Suram Singh, a resident of village Kotli Miyan Fateh Miran Sahib District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 47/2020 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation started.
This is the fourth catch of heroin by ANTF within week’s time. Earlier, ANTF recovered 338 grams, 300 grams and 807 grams of heroin from Awantipora, Srinagar and Kupwara respectively in last week.
SP ANTF has appealed to the general public to extend all support to eradicate the menance of drugs from society.
