JAMMU, Dec 31: Anti-corruption Bureau here today has produced challan against accused JE Sunil Gupta before the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Udhampur.
As per case on 13-05-2017 a complaint was lodged by Pyar Singh of Udhampur alleging there in that he had worked as facilitator nominated by Gram Sewak Block Moungri for execution of some work and the JE Sunil Gupta demanded an amount of Rs. 55000 for release of payment on account of execution of the work done by him.
Out of the demanded amount, Rs. 20,000 had already been paid to Gupta besides Rs. 10000 through his son. The complainant alleged that the JE was reluctant to make available government cement for his another work which was underway since February 2017 unless remaining amount of Rs. 25000 as bribe is paid to the JE.
After receipt of complaint a trap team was constituted and a successful trap was laid against the JE where he was arrested red handed while demanding the illegal gratification of Rs. 25000.
After completion of the investigation, the case was processed for obtaining necessary Government sanction against the accused JE.
After obtaining the sanction from the competent authority the Challan of the case has been produced in the competent trial Court for judicial determination.
