Over 218 kanals of prime land retrieved

SAMBA, Nov 12: The district administration Samba in its continuous anti encroachment drive today retrieved over 218 kanals of prime land at village Chak Chiba Khurd in Supwal area of the district which was grabbed by land mafia who have started constructing a residential colony over it under the name and style of Green Valley.
According to official sources after getting information the district administration led by District Development Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajruia swung into action by putting its men and machinery in service to demolish the structures constructed on the 218 kanals and 16 marlas of State land.
The anti encroachment team led by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur, C P Kotwal and others who rushed to the encroached site and pressed a JCB machine for demolition of concrete structures, pacca house, pavements, sheds, RCC structures raised over the land which was grabbed by them illegally. A high deployment of police was also made to foil any resistance by the encroachers.
Official sources said under Khasra No. 93/14 a total of 193 kanals 16 marlas was encroached upon by Vishwanathan, S/o Pukhu R/o Chak Chiba Khurd and under Khasra No. 92/12 a total 25 kanals was encroached upon by another person namely Pawan Gupta who both were trying to develop an residential colony under name style as “Green Valley”. However with timely intervention of Revenue Department the conversion of State land was stopped and all the structures erected were also demolished besides case under relevant sections has also been registered against the encroachers.
During the drive Tehsildar Vijaypur, Pardeep Singh, Inspector, Karnail Singh besides other field staff of revenue and JK Police were also present.
DDC Samba, Rohit Khajuria said as the issue came into his notice, he gave immediate directives to concerned SDM and Tehsildar to get State land vacated from the illegal occupation of the land mafia. He warned that nay body how influential he may be will not be spared for illegal occupation of State land in the district.
