JAMMU, Mar 9: A joint anti-encroachment drive was conducted today by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Traffic Police on the instructions of Commissioner JMC Avny Lavasa.
The drive was conducted under the close supervision of Secretary JMC Atul Kumar and Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) JMC Manisha in the area of Narwal Bye Pass, Channi Highway.
SP Traffic and Deputy SP Traffic were also accompanying the JMC officers during the drive which was conducted against the illegal encroachments, wrongly parked vehicles and street vendors causing traffic congestion and obstruction to free movement of pedestrian on footpaths.
During the drive, the team removed 2 truckloads of non-perishable material displayed on roadside and lifted 12 illegal rehries.
