KATHUA, Dec 13: Continuing the anti encroachment drive launched by district administration in association with Municipal Council Kathua, the team cleared the encroached area in front of GMC gate and removed more than two dozen of Reharies, street vendors ,Khokhas and other unwanted venders creating nuisance and problems to free flow of traffic at GMC entry gate.
The team also removed encroachment at Kalibari Chowk which was made by a famous Bikanari sweet shop on footpath.
The fruits and vegetables reharis were also removed at Kalibari road and strict warning was issued to encroachers to face action if they violated the law. However some shopkeepers raised the finger on working of Municipal Council which they alleged was adopting step mother attitude with poor people and were showing a lenient approach towards rich shopkeepers who have encroached the footpath at Kalibari Chowk, Shaheedi Chowk and Hatli Morh Chowk.
They appealed the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua to take stern action against such officers who are showing favoritism during the anti encroachment drive in Kathua town.
