JAMMU, Mar 25: The National Security Guard (NSG) today conducted a comprehensive anti-hijack drill at the Jammu Airport.
A statement said that the Anti-Hijack Committee at Air Force Station Jammu was activated for the exercise, which involved all the major stakeholders, including the Indian Air Force, Airports Authority of India (AAI), Jammu and Kashmir Government, JKP, CISF, IOC, and other key players.
“The drill encompassed the entire spectrum of events, starting with negotiations with hijackers and culminating in the intervention and overpowering of hijackers by a potent team of NSG,” it said.
An Air India aircraft that had landed at Jammu in the afternoon was utilized for the realistic drill, and the exercise was successfully conducted, providing valuable training and lessons for all stakeholders, the statement further said.

The drill offered a unique opportunity to validate the processes followed by the inter-agencies during a crisis. The participating agencies demonstrated their ability to coordinate effectively and act swiftly to contain any threat, it said.
“The exercise was successfully conducted bringing valuable lessons and training for all the stakeholders,” added the statement.
