SRINAGAR, Feb 25: Hundreds of people took to the roads in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, disrupted traffic for hours and staged massive protest against Power Development Department (PDD) for its failure to repair the damaged transformer.
Residents of Kral Mohall and Khambren came on the main road connecting Shopian headquarter with Pulwama town early this morning to press the PDD to repair their damaged transfer.
The protesters blocked the main road by putting huge wooden logs, boulders and disrupted the traffic for three hours. And after official assurance the protesters allowed the smooth movement of traffic.
The residents including the students, shopkeepers and traders alleged that their transformer was damaged three weeks back, but so far it was not repaired by PDD.
