Sir,
It is quite heartening that Lok Sabha has passed the Anti-rape Bill as it is a step towards safety of women in the country. Termed as Criminal Law (amendment) Bill 2013, it calls for stringent punishment for crimes against women besides penalties for stalking voyeurism and acid attacks.
The Government did its bit by enacting this Bill. It is now for implementing agencies how they go with it. Besides, it is society which has to change its mind set towards women. No law has succeeded unless people fully support it. It is also incumbent upon society to respect womanhood. Once these measures are taken in tandem, things will change for better. The society has to introspect to see where the things go wrong. Mere laws won’t change the complexion of society.
Yours etc….
