JAMMU, Aug 3: Reserved categories socio- religious groups, retired forum and youth/women wing of JAC castigated both UT/State and Central government for befooling SC, ST, OBCs of J&K and announcing all the unconstitutional and anti- reserved category schemes, violating guarantees meant for the welfare of these categories.
Addressing a joint press conference members of JACRC said in spite of getting huge number of votes of these communities in 2014 and 2019 parliamentary elections as well as ULB and Panchayat polls, these people are being ignored now. They used them only as vote bank They have just befooled SC, ST, OBCs through their nefarious designs.
They said the PM’s slogan of “DHARA 370 KAA KHATAMA JAMMU KASHMIR Mein EK NAYA ITIHAS LIKHYEGA”, has a turned out to be a false slogan only. JKUT is slowly and steadily getting turned into Bihar/UP like situations on socio-religious and even political fronts. Atrocities on SCs have increased several folds after 370 abrogation. In a recent example of UP/Bihar like situation, one BDC Chairman member from Sunderbani has abused and threatened other community member which is unfortunate. An action should be taken against him.
They regretted that Lt Governor has ample time to meet even one-man delegations having very minor/trivial issues to address but he do not have time to meet real representatives of reserved categories. The officials in LGs secretariat on one or the other pretext refuses time with LG for delegations of SC, ST, OBCs. The members severely condemned the announcement of 10% Reservation for Agniveer in JKUT and immediate implementation of EWS, Pahari and others such reservations in JKUT.
Senior members Mohinder Bhagat, Sham Lal Basson, Kali Dass, Kewal Krishan Fotra, Abdul Majeed Malik, Surinder Dewgoda and others were also present.
