JAMMU, Jan 5: A delegation of Association of Industries (Regd) Gangyal, Jammu led by its president Virendra Jain, comprising of Sanjay Langar, general secretary, Ajay Mahajan, secretary and Jatinder Singh, treasurer held a meeting with the Commissioner/Secretary, Industries & Commerce Vikaramjit Singh.
Jain emphasized on the implementation of the announced  incentives like turnover incentive and reimbursement of SGST in true letter and spirit. Jain apprised the Commissioner/ Secretary that only 10% amount of the filed claims has been released. He urged the Commissioner/ Secretary to release the balance amount of turnover incentive for the year 2021-22 at an earliest to save the existing industry from dieback.
The delegation also requested that the package of incentives must be provided to the existing industry at par with the new industry under NCSS and a fresh package for new industry be also formulated. Jain also urged the Commissioner/Secretary that the Operative Incentive to the existing industry must be at par with the new industry.
They also requested the Commissioner/Secretary to convert the lease hold industrial land to ownership right as promised earlier. The delegation also apprised  the Commissioner/ Secretary that the Govt has charged the premium from the entrepreneurs equal to the then prevalent market rate of the land at the time of allotment.
The delegation also emphasized that the market support by the Govt is needed badly as the units engaged in manufacturing the material consumed by the Govt agencies are dependant  only on the Govt requirements.
The team apprised the Commissioner/Secretary that the cricket bat industry located in rural areas are being denied the licence  to run band saw which has prompted the units to close down. Jain requested to the Commissioner/Secretary that the Forest Department may be asked to issue the licence to such industry so that they can run smoothly.
The Commissioner/ Secretary gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the problems putforth by the delegation shall be addressed as Govt is already seized of these problems.
