JAMMU, Mar 27: The Association of Industries, Gangyal has expressed deep concern over the neglect of link roads leading to the Industrial area, Gangyal by the Chief Engineer, R&B Department, despite repeated requests over the last three months.
The link roads including those from Trikuta Nagar Canal to Industrial Area, Gangyal, Preet Nagar, SSB to Industrial Area, Gangyal and Model Town to Industrial Area, Gangyal are in dilapidated condition, posing a significant risk to the safety of commuters and industrial transport.
“We have been repeatedly requesting the Chief Engineer, R&B Department to attend the issue, but unfortunately our pleas have fallen on deaf ears,” Virendra Jain, president, Association of Industries, Gangyal said.
He urged the Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and Commissioner/Secretary, PWD to look into this matter and ensure the necessary repairs of the roads. The Association of Industries, Gangyal is afraid that if the issue is not addressed promptly, it may lead to fatalities and serious accidents, causing irreparable damage to the industrial sector and the economy as a whole.
