JAMMU, Apr 7: Association of Industries (AOI), SIDCO Complex, Samba today projected their burning issues before the Director Industries, Ravi Shanker Sharma here today.
A deputation of the Association led by its president Vijay Aggarwal, today met the Director Industries and Commerce Jammu and discussed issues concerning industrialists. They demanded incentives for the J&K industrialists at par with North East as promised by the Centre, freight subsidy, GST refunds etc.
The Director Industries, who was earlier OSD to the Industries and Commerce Minister said that revealed that guidelines relating to freight subsidy shall be issued shortly by the State Government. Regarding incentives in lieu of 2 percent GST, as it was announced in the budget, the Director informed that it is under process.
The Director further informed that department has recently received a letter from DIPP for the clearance of few cases, the details of which shall be uploaded on Industries department website shortly. Sharma said that he was fully aware of the problems being faced by the Industries as the GST refunds are still pending. He assured the deputations that he will work in most transparent manner to bail out industries from its difficult times. He said the Industries will be provided all possible help.
The other members of Association who accompanied the president Vijay Aggarwal included, Retash Mahajan, Rohit Saroha, Arjun Malhotra, Narander Brahambat, Sushil Sharma, Atul Tyagi, Naredner Sharma, Amit Kumar, R L Bhat and Hardeep Singh.
