AoI voices concern over choking of drains

SAMBA, Aug 25:  A meeting of Association of Industries (AoI), Samba, was held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Bharat Bhushan Raina, to discuss the grievances faced by them.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the choking of drains leading to overflow of water in the lanes and drains of IGC Phase 1, Samba, which could also damage the roads of the area.
Prior to the onset of monsoon, the SIDCO authorities were requested to start the cleanliness drive but the demand was ignored by them, the members alleged, adding, it is the right time to start it to avoid more damage.
The meeting also appealed the SIDCO authorities to construct more tube wells to overcome shortage of water supply to the industries.
General secretary of the Association, Ashwani Abrol raised the issue of damaged main road of SIDCO Phase 1, Samba. He pointed out that the Road has become accident prone due to trenches developed on it. He appealed the authorities to make temporary arrangements to repair the Road until it is remettled.
