JAMMU, May 18: Association of Industries (AoI) Gangyal  has expressed strong resentment over the prolonged power curtailment and low voltage in Gangyal Industrial area.
In a  meeting of the Association  held here today under the chairmanship of  Rajesh Jain, president of the body to discuss the power supply in SICOP Industrial Complex, Gangyal, Jammu for the last ten days with the members.
The Members raised serious concern about the frequent tripping of power supply and low voltage from Grid Station and Gangyal receiving station due to which the unit holders are facing problem and their production activity disturbed resulting huge financial loss. Apart from production loss, the motors and electrical parts of the machinery are damaged because of interruption and low voltage. The matter was brought in the notice of Chief Engineer, M&RE & System Operation.
The members of the Association strongly flayed the working of Power Development Department (PDD) where nobody is accountable for repeated power failures and low voltage in Industrial area, Gangyal. The Officers Incharge are not taking care to improve the system. Even the built-in system of taps to increase the voltage is not being take care leaving the entrepreneurs at the mercy of God.
They said the State Govt has already made commitment for 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to industry but now it has backed out its promise. It shows casual approach of Power Development Department  and failure of  efforts of the popular Govt.
The Association of Industries (AoI) appealed to the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh to intervene into this matter and assure the industry 24 hours quality power without interruption in Gangyal Industrial area.
The meeting was also attended among others by  Bansi Lal Gupta, SB Abrol, Vijay Sharma and Sanjeev Vig.
