APC demands construction of Dharamshalla at Nagbal

JAMMU, Apr 5: A General Body meeting of Anantnag Prabandhak Committee (APC) was held here, today under the chairmanship of Sundri Lal Koul.
Addressing the meeting president of the Committee, M K Bambroo urged the district administration Anantnag to start the work on Dharamshalla at Nagbal, Anantnag which is one of the ancient and important shrines of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley.
He said that although Nagabal Anantnag, Asthapan being very important shrine of Kashmiri Pandits but there is no arrangement for a stay of devotees and yatries in its premises. The Government had already promised to construct one Dharamshalla in Nagabal but for some reasons best known to the administration, the work got stopped.
General secretary of the Committee, BK Wantoo said that present Committee has
since completed it’s tenure and the elections to form a new Committee are due but the prevailing situation in the country due to COVID does not permit to go for elections. It was, as such decided that the present Committee will continue to be in place and function till a new Committee is elected.
The General Body also formed a seven member Committee comprising of B K Bhat, Bal Jee Koul, S K Kandroo, Ravi Ji Saraf, AK Koul, Sanjay Handoo and Anil Razdan to assist the present Committee and also complete the election process within the stipulated period.
