Apex Committee members appeal migrant youth to call off dharna

JAMMU, June 20: Former Chief Secretary and MLC Vijay Bakaya and various Apex Committee members today made an appeal to protesting migrant youth to call of their over two month old dharna in view of the State Cabinet approving the revised return package for the Kashmiri migrants and enhancement of cash relief.
Besides Mr Bakaya the appeal was made by Apex Committee member and senior Congress leaders Moti Lal Kaul, Hira Lal Pandita, Chuni Lal Bhat and NC Working president and Apex Member M K Yogi, Roshan Lal Raina, Krishan Lal Karan Choudhary secretary NC Minority Cell and Vinod Ticku of Kashmiri Displaced United Council (KDUC).
They said that the decision taken by the Cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will act as a Confidence Building Measure (CBM) and pave way for the rehabilitation of displaced people in Valley.
They said the promises made by Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Raman Bhalla and his deputy Nasir Aslam Wani with Apex Committee members recently were kept by them and Mr Bhalla took personnel interest in getting the package wetted in the Cabinet.
They said in view of the Cabinet decision we are hopeful that the migrants sitting on dahrna will call off the same and extend all cooperation to Government in making the package a success.
Meanwhile the migrants sitting at dharna at Jagti for over two months now while expressing their confidence over the decision taken by State Cabinet also complimented , Omar Abdullah, Raman Bhalla, Nasir Aslam Wani, Releif organization and the Apex Committee for settling the issue.
Ajay Bhat, O N Kaw, Ravinder and Veer Ji Raina who are leading dharna at Jagti and in the premises of Relief Organization said that they will take future course of action in tomorrow’s meeting.
