JAMMU, July 26: The Government has framed a State level apex committee to over see the implementation of National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) orders on solid and plastic waste management, bio-medical wastes management, clean air and river pollution in the State.
A GAD order said that Chief Secretary will be the Chairman and Member Secretary, State Pollution Control Board as secretary of the panel. The other six members of the committee will be, Administrative Secretaries ,Health and Medical Education Deptt, Housing and Urban Development Department, Transport Department, Forest and Environment, Chairman Pollution Control Board J&K and Divisional Commissioners Jammu/ Kashmir and Ladakh. The committee will meet at lest once a month.
