JAMMU, Mar 25: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) has asked the State Government to honour its commitment on 6-point charter of demands made during and after historic Porbandar agitation with team APMCC within two months or face another nationwide agitation.
APMCC which held a high powered core group meeting under the chairmanship of APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit here today reviewed the progress made on the assurance of Government over its 6-point charter of demands wherein it was regretted that Government has yet not taken any step towards introduction of Temples and Shrines Bill in the current session of J&K Assembly.
Speaking in the meeting Vinod Pandit said that despite the assurance of minister for Relief, Revenue and Rehabilitation Aijaz Ahmed Khan during his interaction with team APMCC on February 28 in his office chamber that he would personally talk to the Chief Minister as well as the Speaker of Assembly to pave way for introduction of the Bill in the House no step seems to have been taken as yet.
Pandit made it clear that he had broken his 15-Day long fast unto death at Porbandar only after written and verbal assurance of the Minister adding while minister had sought some time to get back on the issues but till date no communication has come forth even as the current session of the Legislative assembly is about to end.
Meanwhile King C Bharati, national spokesperson of APMCC said that all options were open for his organization and warned that it would undertake a ‘Kafan Yatra’ against the discriminatory attitude of the State Government if their 6-point charter of demands was not implemented within two months as assured by the Government during a meeting of the team APMCC with the Minister Aijaz Khan on February 28, after returning from Porbandar.
Bharati said that the decision to undertake ‘Kafan Yatra’ was taken by the core group if the Government fails to honour its commitment within next two months.
