APMCC demands Central monitoring for J-K relief distribution

JAMMU, Sept 16:
All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) today demanded the setting up of Central Government headed panel to monitor the relief distributions in J&K to make it effective.
“We have no faith in the state administration. We urge Central Government to float a Central Govt headed Relief and Rehabilitation monitoring Committee in J-K so that the relief distribution is effective and reaches the people rather than the pockets of the corrupt people in state administration”, APMCC Chief Vinod Pandit said here today.
People apprehend that state administration was eyeing the huge relief, reconstruction and rehabilitation money promised by the Centre and instead of providing relief it was giving us lathis and abuses, Pandit alleged.
General Secretary of APMCC, Arun Kandroo said said that local administration proved a total failure and it was only armed forces and NDRF which provided much needed rescue and relief to the flood affected people.
APMCC Chief also denounced the unprovoked lathicharge on peacefully protesting flood-hit Pandits at Srinagar.
He demanded immediate ration supply and blankets for over 4000 flood victims staying at Zestha Devi temple complex in Srinagar. (AGENCIES)
