JAMMU, May 25: The All Parties Migrants’ Coordination Committee (APMCC) today asked the new Central Government under the leadership of Narendra Modi to announce a National Level Apex Committee on Kashmiri migrants to decide the future course of the hapless migrant community and formulate a fresh package for their dignified return and rehabilitation.
In a joint statement APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit and National spokesperson King Bharati have said that the initiative of the new Government towards Kashmiri migrants even before taking over the reins of the country indicates that NaMo Government was serious towards resolving the miseries of Kashmiri Pandits as well as Kashmir issue but added that the best way to resolve any issue was to announce a National Level Apex Committee on Kashmiri migrants which must include the ground level leadership of Kashmiri Pandits working at ground zero in Kashmir, Non-migrants as well as genuine leadership of KPs.
King Bharati cautioned the new Government that Apex Committee like J&K Government should not be announced which was like a toothless tiger and has been reduced to a mere formality by the J&K Government adding the National Level Apex Committee must comprise of real representatives with decision taking power if the new Government really wants to resolve the miseries of the Kashmiri Pandits.
While welcoming the eagerness of the new Central Government to be headed by Narendra Modi to address the issues of Kashmiri Pandits for which Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been asked to make a comprehensive report Vinod Pandit said that the new Government must take into confidence the actual ground level leadership of Kashmiri Pandits before finalizing any new package.
