JAMMU, Mar 8: An emotionally charged performance of a new play in Hindi ‘Apne Hi Putle’ written by Yogesh Tripathi and directed by Neeraj Kant was presented here today at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni in its weekly theatre series, Sunday Theatre.
In the clash of the egos of two men, worst sufferer is always a woman. Though it appears atrocious but it shows mirror to the society on the occasion of Women’s Day and this was also very distinctively expressed in the play.
In the story, an affluent person has identified a young boy to be his son-in-law and because of his status, he makes the father of the boy agree to his desire. He always makes them realize that their status is much low and they could never match his standard.
Though the meek father agrees to this, the boy had a deep impression in his mind that he has been sold and resolves to take revenge. On getting married, he never gives the status of wife to the daughter to that rich person rather takes the revenge in a very heinous manner.
He facilitates the marriage of his innocent sister-in-law with a person who was criminal and greedy for dowry on a wrong assurance that he knows the boy very well and he is a very noble person. This makes his sister-in-law end her life, putting a deep scar on his soul.
Every character of the play has his own story which looks different from different perspective and the writer leaves it to the audience to decide the fate of the characters.
Natrang actors who performed in the play include Mahikshit Singh, Syed Mudassar, Juhi Singh, Masood Qadir, Rajan Thakyal, Shubham Soni and Shekhar Sharma.
Lights were operated by Ankush Lakhnotra and Music was scored by Pawan Verma. Pankaj Verma did the presentations.
