Apni Party committed to revive significance of Srinagar: Mir

SRINAGAR, Sept 20: Apni Party Provincial President Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Mir has said that his party is committed to work tirelessly for restoration of immaculate magnificence and pristine glory of Srinagar city.
Addressing a party workers’ meeting of Amirakadal constituency at party office, Mir said, there is a dire need to work for the revival of Srinagar’s historic centrality for enhanced socio-economic activities in Kashmir valley.
“Initiatives taken by our party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari while being outside or in the Government in almost all public sectors especially in Amirakadal constituency are still remembered by one and all,” Mir claimed.
He stressed on the Government to expedite implementation of developmental plans for making Srinagar a modern city under the Smart City project. “Entire Srinagar city needs better infrastructure in the light of modern day developmental needs,” he said, adding that despite contributing significantly in democratic processes so far, the inhabitants of the city are yet to witness a tangible change on the ground.
Mir said that people of Kashmir valley have gone through various phases of political upheaval especially since 1990s.
“People here are politically mature enough to judge the political parties on the basis of their agenda, promises and the delivery on the ground. Now the time has come that people of Kashmir should judge and support only those political parties who do not believe in hollow sloganeering and have the will to work for the peoples’ welfare,” he maintained.
On this occasion, Aijaz Ahmad Rather was unanimously appointed as party’s Zonal president for Amirakadal constituency.
Apni Party’s Provincial Vice President, Jagmoham Singh Raina, party district president Srinagar, Noor Mohammad Sheikh; Muntazir Mohi-u-Din, Irfan Naqeeb, Nazir Dailgami, Mohammad Ashraf Dar; Zonal President Amirakadal, Aijaz Ahmad Rather, Muzaffar Reshi and Imtiyaz Ahmad Rather were also present.
