SURANKOTE, May 19: The second convention of the Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party was held today in Surankote, Poonch, drawing a significant turnout.
The event was addressed by Zafar Iqbal Manhas, the party’s candidate from the Rajouri-Anantnag Parliamentary constituency.
In his speech, Manhas emphasized his commitment to the holistic development of the entire constituency, with a special focus on the Pir Panjal region. He called for unity within the Pahari community to drive forward the agenda of development and progress.
The convention witnessed a show of support for Manhas, particularly at the rally held in the village of Fazalabad. Thousands of workers and supporters gathered, expressing their solidarity with the BJP alliance candidate.
Prominent figures in attendance included Shalinder Mishra, MLA from Baghalpur, Bihar; Ayodhya Gupta, BJP State Incharge; Sohail Malik, DDC Member of Surankote; and Iqbal Kazmi. Various BJP mandals and morchas were also represented at the event, underscoring the broad support for Manhas’s candidacy.
Shailendr Mishra, MLA from Bihar highlighted the achievements of Modi-led Central Government which is working tirelessly for the common public of this country and urged the people to vote in favour of alliance candidate of BJP so that holistic development of this area is made.
According to a handout, issued by the Apni Party, large number of organizations, including Pahari Peoples Movement, Pahari Welfare Forum, Youth for Change, Global Peace Foundation and many other regional social organisations across the Pir Panjal have already announced support for Apni Party candidate Zafar Manhas for Anantnag -Rajouri Parliamentary seat and in last two weeks the Apni Party candidate has garnered immense support across the region.
