Apni Party demands hike in cash assistance to migrants

JAMMU, July 1: Apni Party State coordinator Displaced Kashmiri Pandits of Jammu division, Vinod Pandita has appealed Government of India and Lt. Governor of J&K to enhance the meager monthly cash assistance of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
In a statement issued here, today, Pandita said that relief holders of Kashmiri displaced community are facing lot of hardships to maintain their families and eke out their overall livelihood on a meager monthly cash assistance of Rs 13000 which needs immediate review for enhancement on humanitarian grounds.
Pandita said that keeping in view the high price rise in daily essential commodities etc., in the present times, Rs 13000 is a quite meager amount to run a family. He appealed Government of India and Lt. Governor of J&K to initiate urgent remedial measures for its enhancement from a meager amount of Rs 13000/- to Rs 25000/- per month at least on extreme humanitarian grounds so that they are able to maintain their families smoothly as well fulfill the long pending demand of the community whose maximum socio- political leaders have been strongly advocating and struggling for its enhancement since last many years.
