MENDHAR, Nov 24: Apni Party today demanded Hill Development Council for Poonch district and bunkers in every house along the Line of Control in Mendhar tehsil.
In a joining function held here today, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Media coordinator of Apni Party said that the border district lacks development and infrastructure due to the negligence of previous Govts in J&K.
“On the pattern of Ladakh, Union Territory, the Poonch should have a separate Hill Development Council for the districts so that the developmental activities can be carried out with the active involvement of locals,” said Khan.
The young Apni Party leader said that as far as developmental activities are concerned, local leadership is not consulted and it has created a gap between the Govt and the residents of the district who have been deprived of their constitutional right to get all basic amenities at door step.
Raqeeq Ahmed Khan was speaking at the joining function of the party in Mendhar in which many prominent people joined the Party.
Prominent among those who joined the party included Naib Sarpanch Tanveer Khan, Panch Hitullah, social activists Mohammed Kafeel, Rayast Khan, Ch Sarfaraz, Zabir Khan, Kafeel Khan, Mohd Iqbal, Hafeez Bhatti, Mohammed Naseer, Mohd Khursheed, Zakir Hussain, Mohd Azam, Ayaz Khan, Riyaz Khan, Basar Khan, Musharaf Khan, Mohd Faiz, Javed Qurashi, Panch Aurangzaib and others.

“The border villages should be provided individual bunkers like they are being given to International Border residents. During hostile atmosphere, and shelling from Pakistan, the LoC residents’ lives become vulnerable and their lives should be provided protection by the Govt.” he said.
