RAJOURI, Nov 2: Apni Party today organised a free eye check up camp at a remote village of Tehsil Khawas in Rajouri district and the team of specialist doctors checked patients and provided them free of cost medicines.
The camp was organised following assurance from the Apni Party Vice President and former Minister, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali to the people of village Ghaibass during his visit to the said village that he would organize a free eye check up camp.
As a part of the promise, Additional General Secretary (Organisation) Arun Kumar Chibber organised the camp with the coordination of Sharp Eye Sight Hospital Jammu in which expert doctors checked over 240 patients, who were also provided medicines.
The village Ghaibass is approximately 130 kms away from Tehsil Khawas and there is no health care facility for the residents of the village. The Sharp Sight Hospital Jammu assured that they would conduct free operation of the eyes of identified patients.
Earlier the camp was inaugurated by Additional General Secretary (Organisation), Arun Kumar Chibber, District President Rural – Rajouri, Bushan Uppal and Block President Thakur Baldev Singh and others.
In his message, Ch Zulfkar Ali expressed gratitude to the Sharp Sight Hospital Jammu for organising the camp and helping the rural population and providing them free eye checkup. He however expressed serious concern over the poor health condition and acute shortage of doctors, paramedical staff and health infrastructure in the rural belt of Rajouri District. He appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to provide better health care in the rural areas with the deployment of adequate doctors and paramedical staff and added that modern equipment should also be provided to the health centres.
Arun Kumar Chibber said that the Apni Party will continue to organize such camps in the neglected areas so that the people can be provided better health care at the doorstep.
Prominent among those who were present in the eye camp, included some PRIs i.e. Sarpanch, Ch Abdul Rehman, Haji Majid Hussain, Thakur Gurmail Singh, Farooq Anjum, Neeraj Malhotra, Zafar Iqbal, Ex-Sarpanch, Kesar Din, Thakur Chamil Singh, Haji Nazeer Hussain, Mohammed Yousaf Kalotra, Jalal Din, Sher Mohammed, Ilam Din and others.
