JAMMU, Aug 13: Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Delhi launched a ‘Special Privilege Health Card” to provide specialized health services and offerings to Jammuites, here today.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Director of Apollo Hospitals Group and senior Pediatric Gastroenterologist Dr Anupam Sibal briefed about the features of the “Special Privilege Health Card”. The card offers special discount on diagnosis, bed charges, physiotherapy, health care, etc, he added.
He said that the aim of launching this “Special Privilege Health Card” is to make people aware about preventive check-ups. “Our main focus is on prevention rather than treatment”, he added.
At Apollo, a special desk has been constituted for the people having “Special Privilege Health Card”. The card holder will get every consultation at this desk, he stated.
He said that traders, lawyers, organized associations and even the citizen of Jammu can take the benefit of this “Special Privilege Health Card”.
“In India 46 per-cent people use to travel for treatment and our aim through this card is to make them aware about preventive check-ups”, he added.
He also threw light on the spectrum of services being offered by Apollo Hospitals. “In the year 1998, Apollo Hospital performed the 1st liver transplant in India. For the past three years, we are the busiest solid organ (liver and kidney) transplant in the world”, Dr Sibal informed.
While speaking, Dr Shakti Bhan Khanna, Senior Consultant Obstetrics said that doctors from J&K are offering their services to the visiting people from the State in every department. “People of Jammu should not feel shy and take the benefits of the J&K doctors available at Apollo Hospitals without any hesitation”, she added.
Dr Sameer Kaul, Senior Consultant, Surgical Oncology and Robotics said that Dr Partap Reddy, Founder of Apollo Hospitals along with his group of doctors had brought the advanced healthcare facilities in India. “Apollo Hospitals was first to apprise the people about healthcare”, he said, adding that, today people from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Burma, Middle East, etc are visiting India for treatment, which shows that healthcare facilities have been increased in India. Preventive check-ups will keep disease away if it gets treated at the early stage, he said.
“Through this “Special Privilege Health Card”, we want to build relationship and friendship with the Jammuites not only in their good time but also in odd hours”, he added.
Dr Anoop Ganjoo, Senior Consultant, Cardio Thoracic Surgery opined that any disease should be diagnosed at early stage after getting options from doctors.
