Apparent killing by wild animal turns out to be a murder for illicit relations

UDHAMPUR, Feb 19: Purported killing of a youth by some wild animal at Mantalai in Chenani, has turned out to be a murder for illicit relations as Udhampur Police is claimed to have worked out the   case with five days.
Police has arrested the alleged killer Noor Mohd, who allegedly killed Mushtaq Ahmed son of  Ismail of  Chatrari by hitting him with a boulder on the February 13 evening and fled the scene.
Before fleeing from the spot, the accused also deeply scratched the neck and some other parts of deceased  to mislead the Police and  creating an impression that some wild could have killed the victim.
During the course of investigation, SSP Udhampur   Suleman Choudhary visited the spot and ordered constitution of a Special Investigation Team headed by  Prem Raj Shan, SDPO Chenani and Inspt  Ajeet Singh, SHO Chenani.
The team during the course of investigation, rounded up few suspects including  Noor Mohd who was put on sustained interrogation. During questioning, the  suspect broke out and confessed commission of crime.
He disclosed that the deceased had developed illicit relations with the wives of two of his brothers. Even one of his brother had divorced his wife for the illicit relations with the deceased  who  was also trying to develop  relations with Noor Mohd’s wife.
Upset over the activities of   the deceased, Noor Mohd attempted many a times to kill the former but could not succeed. On that very day, when the deceased  was coming from the house of his brother during late night hours,  accused hit him hard on his head with a boulder and fled away taking advantage of darkness. Due to profuse bleeding, the deceased died on the spot.
After confession of crime by the accused,  the inquest  was converted into case FIR number  15/2014 murder under Section 302/RPC.
