Apparent suicide by housewife turns out to be murder by husband

UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: Apparent suicide by a young housewife in Ramnagar turned out to be murder by husband of the deceased as Police worked out the case and arrested the accused.
Deceased Shalla Devi (31), wife of Parma, resident of Nallah Ghouran in Tehsil Ramnagar, had been found hanging at the house of her in law under mysterious circumstances on October 16.
An inquest proceeding was initiated in this regard vide DDR number 04 at Police Post Ghordi. During the course of enquiry, police team headed by PSI Rhythm Sharma and Inspector Pushpinder Singh (SHO Ramnagar) under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey investigated the facts and circumstances of the case.
The Police team observed some foul play in the case which had been apparently been presented to create an impression of suicide. Police detained some suspected persons for questioning and during the course of sustained questioning, it was established that the deceased Shalla Devi was murdered by her husband Parma on the fateful night after a heated arguments between the two.
According to Police, the accused husband confessed that he tied a scarf around neck of the deceased and then hanged her in the room to portray her killing as suicide.
Thereafter, Police arrested the accused husband and converted the inquest proceeding into murder case under FIR Number 137/2022 U/Sec. 302 IPC of Police Station Ramnagar. Further investigation of the case has been entrusted to SHO Ramnagar Inspr Pushpinder Singh.
