Appearing for JKCET?

JKCET (Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test) is conducted every year by JKBOPEE (Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination).
Through JKCET, deserving candidates get admission to BE, BUMS, BAMS and BPT courses in the various colleges of Jammu and Kashmir.
Registration for JKCET 2018 begins from the last week of February every year. Candidates who successfully register at jakbopee.org are eligible to download JKCET Admit Card. It will be available from April, 2018. It can be obtained in both the online and offline mode.
There are some basic guidelines to follow for all those appearing in JKCET 2018 in May 2018. These instructions are set by the conducting authority i.e. JKBOPEE.
All important do’s and don’ts to follow at each step:
JKCET Registration
Registration window of JKCET 2018 will be open from the last week of February 2018 till the first week of April 2018. Here are some do’s and don’ts that interested candidates must follow while registering themselves for JKECT:
* Do check JKCET Eligibility Criteria before registering for the entrance exam.
* Visit the official website i.e. jakbopee.org to fill the application form.
* Fill the application form carefully so that there are no errors on it.
* Pay the application fee before filling the application form.
* Upload all the necessary documents while filling the application form such as scanned images of your thumb impression, signature and passport size photograph. You also need to upload your mark sheet, reserved category certificate and permanent resident certificate.
* Make sure the uploaded images are clear.
* Make sure you adhere to the specified format and dimensions of the uploaded images to avoid cancellation of the form.
* Cross-check all the entered data and then submit the form.
JKCET Preparation
In order to score high marks in JKCET and qualify for the examination, candidates must prepare well for the examination. Here are a few tips to follow, in order to score well.
* Do start your preparation early so that you can study all the 3 sections (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics/Biology) properly.
* Focus on each topics and sub-topics that are mentioned in JKCET syllabus.
* Refer NCERT books of Class 11 and Class 12.
* Solve previous year questions papers and take online mock tests.
* Do not spend your entire time studying one subject.
* Do not just learn the formulas when you are preparing for Physics. It is essential to know the derivation of the formulas.
* Do not just learn the theories as there will be plenty of numericals.
JKCET Exam Day
JKCET 2018 will take place at the end of May 2018. Candidates must be well-aware of below-mentioned exam day instructions, so as to avoid any trouble.
* Do carry your JKCET Admit Card on the day of examination, at the allotted exam center.
* Do reach the exam center at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
* Skip answering the questions you are not sure about as there is negative marking in JKCET. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
* Mark clearly the answers on the OMR sheet that will be provided to you.
* Do not carry calculators, mobile phone and any other electronic gadgets to the examination hall.
* Do not use your OMR sheet for any rough work and make any sort of marks.
JKCET Counselling
JKCET counselling will start after the announcement of result. The document verification for Round 1 of counselling will start tentatively from the 3rd week of June 2018. The document verification for Round 2 will start tentatively from the last week of June 2018. Here are helpful instructions to follow at JKCET Counselling:
* Be present in person on the day of counselling. In case of an unavoidable situation, the representative has to carry an authority letter.
* Do carry the counselling letter. You can find it online if you have qualified in JKCET.
* Do carry all original documents that are needed for verification along with their attested photocopies.
* Choose the course/institution of your choice after document verification.
* Reach the counselling venue in time. Else, you won’t be granted admission.
JKCET Admission
The final admission of JKCET will be on the basis of the merit list published by the conducting authority. Here are some do’s and don’ts for JKCET admission:
* The allotment of seats will be on the basis of the marks you secure.
* Report to the college allocated to you on the specified date after counselling.
* Do not forget to carry your documents and admission fee on the day of admission.
* Do not skip any round of counselling if you want to get admission in the colleges of Jammu and Kashmir.
* Classes will commence after selected candidates have completed the admission formalities.
