SRINAGAR: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the appointment of Advisors by Governor N N Vohra indicated that there will not be an early end to central rule in the State and wondered whether fresh elections would be held this year.
“This clearly indicates that Gov Vohra doesn’t see an early end to central rule in the State. Elections this year?” Omar tweeted.
His comment came after Vohra appointed retired IAS officers Pervez Dewan and Khurshid Ganai as Advisors to help him in running the administration.
The State has been under Governor’s Rule since January 8, a day after the then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away. (AGENCIES)
