Appreciation of students securing merit positions

Sir,
The J&K Board of School Education declared the result of Hr.Sec.Part. 2 (Annual Regular, Summer zone, 2014 on May13,  2014. It is heartening to read that 52.8 percent students have passed the exam. and as many as twenty seven merit positions  have been clinched by the students of the Government schools They have, thus , proved that the students of Government schools , in no way, lag behind their counterparts studying in the private institutions. The hardwork, sincerety and devotion of such meritorious students should be given due recognition by those at the helm of affairs in the School Education Department of the Government of J&K.The said department also needs to formulate a concrete plan to reward these students and all those who  secure merit positions in Secondery School Exam (10th class) as well as in Hr. Sec .Exam(12th) conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education in winter and summer zones of both Jammu and Kashmir divisions)
The Principals of the institutions which register hundred percent result in the Board exams and the teachers who have record100% result in their respective subjects should also be appreciated for their hard work and dedication to boost their morale and  inspire others to emulate them. The students who  secure merit positions in different subjects and their teachers too need to be commended by awarding them Commendation/Appreciation Certificates.
Similarly, the Chief Education Officer of the district which excels the other districts in Board results should also be rewarded. It is an admitted fact that appreciation of good work invariably leads to improvement in efficiency and quality of that work and if good administrators, teachers and students are appreciated for their hard and dedicated work, there is no doubt that there will be a remarkable  improvement in the standard of education of the students of Government schools. At the same time a threadbare analysis of the said result needs to be made and factors such as lack of teaching staff, poor infrastructural facilities, slackness on the part of officers/ teachers etc.which led to  about 47% students being declared as ‘reappear’ or ‘failed’ in the said exam should be identified and corrective measures taken to improve the result percentage in the years to come.
Yours truly……
