JAMMU, Oct 26: Strongly countering National Conference (NC) and ridiculing its statement that BJP’s fake jubilation can’t hide its rejection by the people of the State, party State spokesperson and senior leader Brig (retd) Anil Gupta today said that NC leadership threw towel before entering the ring and it has no moral right to comment on the winner.
In a strong worded statement issued here, Brig Gupta said a fair and open chance was given to the party to contest but apprehending certain defeat its leadership choose to boycott the elections on a flimsy ground because the issues they took for boycott has nothing to do with elections which is a part of democratic process.
Brig Gupta said “they are so much concerned about continuation of dynastic rule that they can’t digest that a common man should be empowered in the State which they consider their own fiefdom”. As they are crying hoarse after the results were declared it clearly shows that NC and its leadership are living in a fool’s paradise, he added.
“We as winners are happy, he said, adding every election has its own dynamics. A Panchayat and ULB election can’t be compared with an Assembly election while an Assembly election can’t be compared with Parliamentary election. Therefore to compare our victory with Assembly election of 2014 is being done to create happiness for themselves”.
He said the Local Body poll of 2005 should be compared with local body poll of 2018 and then conclusion should be drawn who won and who has lost or who has gained. “However if they are happy in counting BJP’s voting percentage let them remain happy as we will continue winning election after election and they will remain satisfied with counting our vote share”, he added.
Brig Gupta said that BJP is thankful to people of the State for imposing faith in the party and voting for development and prosperity and not for destruction and devastation which the State witnessed in last about three decades due to mis-governance of NC and its ally.
