SRINAGAR: Approval of setting up two All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has been received in May this year from the Union Government, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat said.
In reply to question by Rajiv Jasrotia, a BJP member from Kathua constituency, Choudhry Lal Singh said a communication has been received from the Union Government of India on May 20,2016 conveying approval for establishment of two AIIMS in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the localations have been identified at Samba in Jammu division and Awantipora in Kashmir division. The inspection of these sites has been done through central teams, constituted by the Centre.
The reply said an amount of Rs 4,000 crore has been earmarked under PM’s package for construction of these AIIMS at Jammu and Kashmir.
However, since the projects are to be executed by GoI and necessary budgetary details in this regard are to be intimated by the GoI, the reply said. (AGENCIES)
