Kargil, Apr 8: In Ladakh, the famous yearly Apricot Blossom (Chuli Mendok) Festival started in Kargil which was witnessed by tourists, villagers as well as locals.
The Department of Tourism Kargil organised the festival at Garkone village which starts with the blossom of Apricot flower and has become a major tourist attraction in the month of April.
Different ethnic cultural troops presented colourful cultural programmes on this occasion which mesmerised the tourists.
AD Tourism while welcoming the guests, Tourists both National and International, villagers said that the aim of the festival is to promote tourism in the region and make Kargil an all-weather tourist destination.
The Apricot Blossom Festival is being held across district Kargil from April 8 to 18 at various locations of the district during which visitors can witness the mesmerizing blossom of Apricot trees and its products.
