Srinagar, May 13: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has castigated the role of a lobby that is working against the interests of people of Kashmir and is hell bent to sabotage the benefits that could accrue to the people of Valley through the different centrally sponsored schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a statement, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that some of the people based in New Delhi want to create a gulf between Government of India and the people of Kashmir. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should hold a probe in this whole matter so that no more love is lost between Kashmiris and the Prime Minister.
“Since people have been asked to download Aarogya Setu app during the COVID-19 pandemic the people living in Kashmir are not able to do it and as such their health is at risk. The basic reason for the same is the slow speed of internet. It is the conspiracy of this lobby that 4G internet connectivity has been denied to the people of Kashmir and the speed of 2G is also very slow,” said Raina.
The APSCC Chairman said that benefits of centrally sponsored schemes like Jan Dhan Yojna and Ujjwala Yojna launched by Prime Minister are not trickling to the deserving in Kashmir since the internet moves at a snail’s pace. He said that although Modi wants to apply balm to the wounds of ordinary Kashmiri the same is not possible due to the anti-people policies of the anti Kashmiri lobby.
Responding to Supreme Court’s verdict on 4G, Raina said that the people should not make the entire population of Kashmir hostage by denying them the fast internet speed. He said that punitive action should be taken against anti-social elements so that they don’t foment trouble in the future by misusing the internet.
“The people who are at helm have all the resources in hand and they can easily catch hold of people misusing the internet for their own ulterior motives. Imposing a blanket ban on the 4G internet connectivity gives an impression that all the Kashmiris are anti-nationals and they have raised a revolt against the state,” said APSCC Chairman.
Raina said that the education of children has also been badly affected due to the imposition of ban on 4G internet in Kashmir. He said that online education that has become a necessity due to Corona Virus has been badly impacted since the internet speed is too slow adding that students are ultimate sufferers.
