Srinagar, Apr 9: Condem-ning the assault on Kashmir students outside the state, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina today appealed separatist leaders to withdraw the shutdown call on April 12 in view of Baisakhi festival.
Raina said the harassment and assaults on Kashmir students outside the state is intolerable and such acts should be probed thoroughly ‘Kashmiri students are being targeted unnecessarily outside the state and such acts should be stopped soon’, he said.
However he appealed separatist leaders to withdraw the shutdown on Tuesday in view of Baisakhi festival. “I appeal separatist leaders to withdraw the shutdown call keeping in view Baisakhi festival on April 13. For Sikh community, April 12 will be celebrated as ‘Arfa’ and if the Valley will observe shutdown on that day then they will face tremendous hardships,” he added.
