JAMMU, Dec 11: All Reserved Categories Joint Action Committee (ARCJAC) has claimed to launch a collective struggle for the rights of reserved category people in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media-persons during protest, Joint Action Committee members, Ashok Basotra, Madan Bhagat, Roomi Malkan, Kuldeep Kumar, Reham Din, Mohd Latief, Anwar Choudhary and others expressed their concern over the onslaught of anti-reservation policies of BJP Government. They expressed their apprehensions against the dilution of quota and making reservation meaningless in comings days in the country.
The speakers during protest expressed their serious concern over the anti-quota policies of the present regime. They resolved to fight jointly for the rights of reserved categories in coming days. Basotra claimed that as per population of OBC’s in J&K, over 60 % reservation should be provided to these people. He also demanded that caste based census should be held in J&K UT.
Gujjar leaders Anwar Choudhary and Talib Hussain frowned the conspiracy being hatched for dividing Gujjars and Bakkerwals. They alleged that Union Government was deliberately diluting the reservation policy in the country, to harm the interests of reserved category people. It appears that Government wants to evaporate reservation by confusing the Reservation policy by adding some undeserving communities in the reservation frame work in the country. RD Thappa demanded that SC quota in the reservation is needed to be enhanced further.
