POONCH, June 25: Lower Ari village and some adjoining hamlets in Mendhar are without water supply for the last more than three weeks.
The locals of the area today held protest and urged upon the SDM Mendhar and Executive Engineer PHE, Poonch to intervene immediately and ensure supply of drinking water to the public during these hot summer days. The villagers alleged that Mohalla Brahmana and adjoining two localities are the worst sufferers. The PHE pipes have gone dry as the pumping station is also affected. Many pipes have developed massive leakage and no body from the department repairs the same. No alternate tanker supply is made available to the public. They demanded that DC Poonch and SDM should take note of their plight.
